Hydrology & Geomorphology Interests in SE Asia

I have been involved in several research projects situated throughout Montane Mainland SE Asia (e.g., China, Lao PDR, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar). I currently have ongoing experiments in two catchments in the upper Chao Phraya River basin in Thailand, two in upper Mekong River basin (China, Thailand), and one in the Badra River basin in India.  These sites provide the foundation for studying how changes in climate and landcover/landuse affect hydro-geomorphological processes.  My other main research focus is understanding the environmental consequences of the replacement of swidden agriculture by more intensive forms of agriculture, including plantations and the permanent cultivation of cash crops.
